| In e-commerce Trust is not everything, but without trust
everything is nothing.
Customers will buy from you for a whole bunch of reasons: They like
your products, or they just might like your design. They heard of your
store, or they dropped in on surfing by.
There is only ONE single step between Visitor and Customer:
TRUST
A Customer has to trust you that the goods are good,
that you handle them with care, and that they will not be damaged or
stolen on delivery. He has to trust that if he should have any complains
after buying that you will be there to take care of any possible
problem.
And last but not least a Customer has to trust that you
are REAL!
If a bad man like to name himself Donald Duck, he will
easily be able to register a Domain with Donald Duck as the owner. He
will spend little afford in opening a virtual shop in the internet and
give it a trustworthy appearance... All in the name of Donald Duck. And
if you are the customer and you are in trouble, who do you want to
complain against? Donald Duck? Or how many afford do you want to put
into it to find the real identity of the man behind it?
Believe me. Customers don't want that kind of trouble.
So if they don't trust, they won't buy!
Of course the Customer could ask for a proof of
ownership by himself, but how often does this happen in real life? And
on the other hand, if every Customer would ask, how many Proof do you
want to offer?
Here is where this Project starts. There are very simple
questions within the internet that can break down the walls of anonymity
within the internet:
-
The shop has a domain. Is the owner of the domain
the owner of the shop? If not, is there a legal contract between the
two?
-
Is the owner of the shop and/or the owner of the
domain a real person? If so, there is some kind of Documentation
(Passport, Birth Certificate, etc.) which can proof this.
-
There are contact Details within each Website.
Email, Telephone and Telefax. Do those facilities belong to the
owner, or are they just rented?
-
Everybody on earth has a physical address. Some
place where he lives and sleeps, a where where letters could be
mailed to. Is this place real, and is it legally occupied? If so,
there will be documentation to all of this.
Trust and Law
There is a simple formula to this question: Do not
trust in the law if it comes to Trust.
Why is this? Well the answer is easy. Of course, in most
countries there are laws against being Donald Duck, and there might even
be hard penalties against this kind of fraud, but still the authorities
do not act before the unlawful action, but only afterwards. That means
the Customer has to be damaged, before the law will start to take
action.
But Customers don't want to be damaged. They are happy
that law forces internet shops to write specific Data to there shops,
like Name, Address, Contact-Details, etc, But they still need TRUST to
believe such Data.
With Trusted-Site.org
they can Trust. Just a click away, and the KNOW what they where supposed
to TRUST before. We asked the Questions, and we received the
documentation. That still is not 100 % security, but it is a grat deal
towards this. |
Dieter Brandenburger, founder of Trusted-Site.org, was born in 1966 and studied
Computer Science and Electro techniques at RWTH in Aachen (Germany).
Instead of finishing his University Degree he left university after
Pre-Diplomas and worked with a large Management-Consulting Company in
Düsseldorf and Berlin. In 1993 he became member of the board.
Since 1997 he was member of the board of a medium sized international
company in the field of Telecom, where e mainly was responsible for the
technical Telecommunication Equipment and the software for the customer
interface. His knowledge in both field computer since and business life
help the company to become a major player in the German Calling Card
business.
After leaving the company in 2005 he continued to program several
interesting and most effective software tools for the internet. Among
those you will find a split-landing system or a Affiliate-Partner-Program.
"Business language and Programmers language are totally
different not only from words but from Grammar", says Dieter,
"in order to produce good AND useful Software you need to have an
understanding in both worlds." For a Programmer there is only one
Yes and one No, the business men knows many levels between the two.
Why free?
If you are the world No.1 Company with the world No.1 Brand, than
Trust might not be an option, but a natural result. Although you could
spend Millions into Trust, you don't need to do it, because people
intend to believe in big names.
If nobody knows you, than you need Trust to be successful. You should
spent money into Trust, but you just might not have any.
There is no charge for this service, but it is not worthless.
You don't have to spend your money, but still it's not free. There is
work in it, not only in developing this platform, but also there is
everyday work in maintenance and in processing physical Trust-Orders.
Remember there is a Hugh offline portion in the process!
So, you don't have to pay, but you might. In fact you should. We are
not putting a sum to, nor will there be any disadvantages if you don't,
but still you should pay a fair price.
Valuable Service
The value of this Service is not measured from anything on this site.
It is not the work we put into it, it is not the design, or what or how
we do things. The only measurement for this value is Trust which can be
achieved within your customers. And Trust is not everything, because
Trust has to lead to business to be of any value. But if it does, than
value for this service gets real.
If you know your figures you will know the value of your site with
and without our service. If you have a value which you can measure in
cash money, than you, and you alone know what this service is worth for
your site. So you are the only one who is able to pay us a FAIR price.
Look at what this service has done for you and than decide what you
should pay as a fair price. Maybe it is only a couple of Dollars or
Euros, maybe it's a Million, maybe it's nothing. It's up to you to
evaluate.
We TRUST in you. Because the only way to become trustworthy is to
trust! |
